The things that you should know for sail boat (bareboat yacht charter) holiday

  • You should join to the informative sessions provided by the company authorities and you should absolutely ask questions those you deem necessary. This is the best and shortest way of learning sailing.
  • Generally the cabinets (rooms) are not so big but still they are furnished to respond all your needs. We recommend you to bring foldable luggage, which can be easily stored in the wardrobes. Besides, we may store your luggage in our storehouse, after you store your wares, until the end of your trip to save place in the boat .
  • We recommend you to take beach towels, sun glasses, sun cream, sneaks, hat and books. Aegean and Mediterranean coasts are perfect laps for blue voyage with sunshine and history, that will ensure unique tastes for you. Besides, a thin cloth will protect you from cool summer nights.
  • Do not forget that the market is far away from you while you are sailing. So, plan all your meal and side meals beforehand. Planning your food in meals will be helpful so as you will have the chance of preparing a full shopping list. If you need something anyway you may find them from the ports you stop.
  • It is absolutely forbidden to walk on the deck or in the cabinets by regular shoes you use out of the boat. If you feel uncomfortable by walking barefoot you may take a white smooth sole shoe by yourself.
  • You should be careful in using water since it is limited and you should avoid waste. The toilet shall be used properly and the paper shall be thrown baskets. Special concern is necessary not to throw impurities into the toilet.
  • Smoking is absolutely forbidden inside of the boats and you should be careful on this subject. You may smoke on the decks but in windy times special attention is needed to avoid unintended accidents.
  • Before you sail you shall close the doors. If they are open you shall lock them behind the doors. Then, lock the drawers. Close the kitchen wardrobes. Place the things on the desk and put the rest within the sink. Open the oven lock and let the things swing if there is any. Cabinet ports shall be kept close. Finally you shall be careful about slipping as walking barefoot on the varnished deck floor
  • Do not forget that nausea is natural and you may experience it any time. This is the case especially for sail boats as they heel more than normal. You can try some medicals if you are much affected by nausea. If you get cold and get wet this will also increase the risk for nausea. Another reason might be consuming too much fat in the morning.
  • Sailing boats work with 12 V battery. 220V can only be received when the boats get close to ports or marinas. The energy is received from 12 V batteries. You may charge the batteries with a tool named as 220 V electricity inverter. Beside these 220 V devices (laptop or mobile phone charges) may be worked with inverter. Inverter transforms 12 V into 220 V.
