If you like to see Greek Islands, the best and most economic way is to make a tour with a sail boat. The nearest island to Fethiye is Rodos, that is 45 miles away. If you make your first overnight stop in Ağa Port, then the distance will fall into 35 miles.

Fethiye/Göcek – Rhodes

Ağa Harbour … This is a port that you may not wish to leave by its shiny and cool sea because of an underwater welding nearby the beach. You may walk through Roman and Byzantine wrecks from the pathway in the shore. The west is called as Big Bay, the Northwest is Small Bay. This bay also hosts the boats, which turn to Marmaris from Fethiye.

Rhodes Island…  This island has got many touristic places besides the main city Rhodes. Generally there are marks from Rhodes Knights so as it gives out a different atmosphere. Since Rhodes people earn from tourism for a long time, they provide everything you may look for a holiday.

Note: We recommend you that you shall stay at least two days here by estimating the historical wealth in Rhodes.

City of Rhodes : There are many places in Rodos, which deserve to be seen. Every place is significantly beautiful with the houses and narrow roads. But you should see Apollon Temple, Mandraki Port, and Ancient theatre. The streets proving the heritage of St John Knights, churches, palaces and Turkish mosques are other remarkable places in the island.2

At the first glance, Rhodes is divided into two towns like “Old Town” and “New Town”. Generally the “Old Town” catch the attention from the visitors.

The old town is constructed within a castle that has got 6 gates. The history of hundreds of years, the narrow roads passed by the Knights, the mystical atmosphere of the castle and the inner side buildings are interesting.

Archaeology museum:This place was a hospital for the Knight in the past and now it is turned into a museum. The most attractive place is Aphrodite Sculpt and other wrecks.

The street named as “Knights Street” is also a museum now. It had been used as a tavern for the visitor knights from other countries.

Mandraki Port:The Rhodes Sculpt was here in the past But now, instead there are two deer sculpts named as “Elefos” and “Elfina” , which are signifying Rhodes Sculpt. This port was used for trade in the past. Nowadays, there are trip boats and diving boats. You may enjoy tours in the beautiful bays , you may go to diving centers and make many different sports activities.

“The new town” is covered by new buildings and many other shopping centers. You may visit many churches and mosques. Yet, this is a very beautiful region for long walks throughout the seaside. If you continue to walk from “KumBurnu” you will see the most famous beach in Rhodes, namely Elli beach.

Rhodes Sculpture: : It is one of the 7 world wonders. It was 30 meters tall and its construction took 12 years. One foot lays in one leg of the port and the other is in the other . The approaching ships had passed between there two legs. However this sculpture was demolished after 50 years due to an earthquake.

Beaches : Rhodes is famous with its beaches. You may enter into the sea from all corners. Elli beach in the north-east and Ixia beach on the west side are blue flag beaches despite that they are in the centre. Also in Rhodes, there are many diving centres and this makes it a haunt for water sports fans.

Butterfly Valley: Imagine a multi-coloured place , where thousands of butterflies come together. Tiny butterflies have got shiny and colourful wings but unfortunately they live only one day. Isn’t it an evidence of different portrait in Butterfly Valley in each day?

Faliraki region:  This holiday town that is in 15 km south of Rhodes Island, attracts many tourist until now. This place, which was only gardens and vineyards in the past, now is totally a holiday town with its nice beaches, active and fun living. You may enjoy sunbathing on the wonderful sand, you may taste delicious food in the beach restaurants and join any kind of sea activity. In addition, if you seek adrenalin, there are many sports activities like go-cart, bungee- jumping etc. You may spend fun time in “Aqua Park” and may enjoy hot tab in the famous Spa’s.

Lindos Region:  Lindos is village that is located in the east side of the island but still it attracts many tourists. This is a very popular place with its white houses, its castle on the edge, and the landscape view from the top. One of the enjoying choice to reach up to the castle is riding mules. The perfect view spread underneath after a ride on top of mules is another nice dimension.

Halki Island…  It is a rocky island of 28 km where approximately 400 people live. Besides its wonderful climate and nice habitants, the nice houses around a beautiful port and mountain view at the backyard presents you an unforgettable holiday atmosphere. There are about 35 miles of distance between Rhodes Island Halki Island.

Tilos Island… It is a small and cute Greek Island between Nisiros and Halki island with 300 of population. As the tourism is slow in here, you may enjoy calm island life and mix with local people. You may visit old city walls, necropolis and MegaloChorio and may swim in the cyristal sea. The distance between Haliki and Tilos islands is about 17 miles.

Nisiros Island…  It is located in the center of 12 Islands. You may make crater tour, try fig raki and the special drink made by almond. You may flourish with face mask made by volcano mud and sold in small jars. You may also try squid and red mullet. Besides all, the island has got a very rich fauna and flora. The distance between Nisiros and Tilosisland is about 15 miles.

Symi Island (Sömbeki)…  There is Nimos Island in the south that has got 2 miles length and there is Seskil island in the north that has got 1 miles length. This island is famous with sponge. There is 25 miles between Rhodes and Symi Island. The island has got a protected port. This is one of the islands you shall visit during your Greek island visit.

Meis Island (Kastelorizo, Megisti)…  It is the smallest among 12 Islands. It is only 2,1 miles away from Kaş. The only residential area is Kastellorizo (Megisti) village on the east side. The most important economic activity is sponge hunting as there is few grape and olive in the island.

Note: Meis Island is a far island that can be visited on Fethiye/Kekova route.
